Gina writes persuasively about why animals' abilities should be taken more seriously and why they too are deserving of a higher moral status. A detailed and critical study of all available evidence, this book looks at how animals have been treated in the past and up to the present date, the so-called defence of this behaviour and why animals must be given a higher moral status. This book is convincing and very informative and contains some very interesting facts about animals. Gina seeks to show the read that, contrary to many academics' opinions, animals are deserving of rights on the grounds of intelligence as well as sentience, something which both Peter Singer and Tom Regan have left out.
