Class War issue 46: What We Say
What's the difference?
The Labour Party's recent launch of its policy document "Opportunity Britain" finally does away with any real political difference between the Tories and Labour.
Labour have even used the same name as the Tories' pre-election document!
As well as the same name, the contents need looking at with a microscope to see any real differences.
Underneath both documents' glossy packaging and ad-man drivel along the "we are the best for Britain" type lines, is the same crap trying to get out.
Labour is desperately grabbing at anything that will give it an image of respectability and moderation - dumping along the way any last lingering traces of being the party of the working class.
The next general election, whenever it comes, will be even more of a farce than usual.
It's no longer a case of whoever you vote for the government gets in. But more like whichever party you vote for has got the same policies anyway!
After twelve years of Tory rule people are looking for a change - a real change - not some pathetic reworkings of old Tory election manifestos written by a load of careerist bureaucrats desperate for a taste of power.
