Class War issue 80: African Adventure

A few months ago we were treated to the news that four Channel 4 journalists had been arrested in an African dictatorship. All the usual cliches of Military leaders, corruption etc were trotted out with the journalists pleading innocence.

All was not what it seems however. The cameraman was ex-Rhodesian soldier and mercenary Tim Lambon, who while he works as a cameraman boasted to someone close to Class War that he had worked for the CIA in Africa and there was nothing more he enjoyed than 'cancelling kaffirs' i.e. killing black people. Our friend actually saw him beat a black youth with a tyre iron in South Africa because he hadn't cleaned his beach buggy properly.

Class War has been in touch with the Liberian embassy who showed us evidence that the journalists concerned had planned to fake up interviews with government ministers in order to destabilise the country. For those who are sceptical just look how quickly his friends in the US managed to mobilise the Presidents own envoy, Jesse Jackson, to plead on their behalf. Not bad for mere journalists.

We wonder how much Channel 4 actually knows about the people they employ. Maybe a little more care and attention is on the cards.
